After finishing up out game with Niagara, we (Paul and Jenny, Lindsay and I) went up to River City Grille for a healthy, early dinner. They came up to check out a game because we hadn't seen them in a while. We opted for Irish Nachos, Buffalo Chicken Fingers, River City Nachos, and a dinner each. Healthy slobs. We finished watching the Yankees blowout and had a few drinks - except Jenny - she's pregnant. We jeered as Nick Johnson finally got a hit - he'd have an OBP of like .600 if he was hitting even .250.
We came back to our apartment and me and Lindsay are throwing back some Miller Lite's. Julia just got here, waiting for Jesse to get here. Jesse got his first win of the year for the Somerset Patriots.
As far as our team goes, we got done with our series with the Niagara Purple Eagles - we swept them 5-2, 12-1, and 4-2. Got good pitching all weekend and some timely hits. That's a long bus ride home after getting swept - it's a tough ride home after losing a series, let alone getting swept and having 6 hours on the bus. It put us at 10-5 in conference and Niagara fell to 9-9 - it was a big weekend for us, a big shot in the arm. We play Tuesday at home and then head to Buffalo to take on the 1st-place Canisius Golden Griffs. They're playing as well as anyone right now and can swing it with the best of them.
The LAST-PLACE Orioles finished off a 3-game sweep of the BOSTON RED SOX. The Yankees pounded the White Sox - Cano had a few hits and drilled another HR. He's pretty good.
It was a good day all around on the baseball front - we got a win, Yanks got a win, RED SOX LOST.
Have a good rest of the day - rock out with your CROC's on!

NEWS FLASH: Common Decency Reaches All-Time Low
Had to get in at 7 am this morning to wash the uniforms so we acan wear our white bottoms today at noon. The equipment managers don't do weekends. We have only 1 washing machine and 1 drier to work with - not bad for 30 guys stuff. Makes life easy.
The other thing I find it necessary to speak about this morning is a matter of common decency. I am the operations manager here at the school, ATHLETIC OPERATIONS. This weekend, we had a Spring Fest, basically an alcohol-induced weekends for the eejit student body. We have all these barricades (pictured) all over the place. This week, we made it a point to gather them all together and keep them in one place. Well, Security had other ideas. They felt it necessary to take all of them and place them throughout the gym in order to promote some crown control. Now, as a human being, is is really that hard to clean up after yourself? I mean honestly, do you really expect other people to clean up after you? Is there no common decency anymore? CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF.
New Found Glory (I thought they didn't even exist as a band anymore) and Wale (one-hit wonder of the song Chillin') were the performers. Sounds like a crazy show to me! I'm sure there were some casualties too, as the gym gets to about 100º, especially since it was almost 90º here in NYC yesterday.
I mean it's Spring Fest, have it outside. That's common sense, which must also be at an all-time low.
It's almost time to head to the field, just gotta wait for these uniforms to dry.
Happy Washing!
