Box Score of the Year

Today at beautiful Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, the Jaspers clinched themselves a playoff berth in the MAAC Tournament next weekend in Fishkill, NY by beating Siena 19-18 in 10 innings.

We were down 5-0 before we even got to bat  in the 1st.  It got worse - we were down 9-2 after 3 innings.  Down 12-5 after 6 innings.  After they put a 5 spot up in top of the 7th to extend it to 17-5.  We wound up scoring 14 runs over the final 3+ innings and walking off with a huge win.  Down 12 runs with 9 outs to go - down to our last out in the 9th and a freshman doubled to cut it to 1, then another freshman hit a slicing flyball to left field and the guy tracked it but dropped it - tie game.

Here's a link to the box score - don't try to print it, lot of ink:  Manhattan Jaspers 19, Siena Saints 18 (10 innings)

Are you kidding me?!?!?!

Happy Birthday

Woke up this morning and took Nathan out only to feel an eerie calm out there this morning.  Some birds chirping, but otherwise it felt like I was walking on clouds.  Hmm, we'll see.  It's the 6-month anniversary of my marriage to Lindsay today.  Best six months of my life.

There's two people who's birthdays we'll acknowledge today

Mr. T (born Lawrence Tureaud) turns 58 today.  He starred as "B.A. Baracus" on The A-Team, and also as "Clubber Lang" in Rocky III.  Either way, he was a bad mamma-jamma.  Happy Birthday Larry.  "I PITY THE FOOL!"

"Notorious B.I.G." (born Christopher Wallace) would have been 38 today.  The man was embroiled in a lot of gang related activities, but was a hell of a performer.  His freestyle with Tupac Shakur is still played on radio today.  He loved it when they called him "Big Poppa."  Happy would-be-38th Biggie.

Got to hop in the shower and get ready for the game.  Heading in to wash the unis again.  May say a little prayer on the walk in, for success.
