Just got in to the office before baseball practice - it's 5:40am - and came across an article on Yahoo!. Before I clicked the link, I knew who was going to be at the very top - Oakland Raiders' own Al Davis.
If you want to read the article, go ahead, it'll show you why a once proud franchise struggles with consistency.
If you don't, here's the list of the least-liked figured in sports:

Six of the top ten least-liked sports figured are from the NFL - you think there's much of an image problem?
Tiger Woods still has work to do to get his image back.
Manny is Manny, he does it for himself.
McGwire is a pock-faced liar.
Bobby Knight doesn't even deserve to be on this list. The guy was a winner wherever he was and is a great motivator and a great coach. Hell, he is a pretty good analyst too - it's nice hearing a game called from a coaches perspective.
Time for baseball.

I agree on Woods, Manny....And Al Davis, well I'm on record about how I feel he has destroyed that once proud team. Vick has done about everything a guy can do to redeem himself at least as far as his sport is concerned.
I agree too the rest should be there EXCEPT Knight. Frankly, I'm surprised he is still on a list like this, a few years ago, sure but now, no way! I think he is a wonderful TV Anylist, even though he'll never be the smooth, super polished talking head. And that's why he's so good...plus his knowledge of the game...unsurpassed. I really like him a lot in his new role on TV...who woulda ever guessed Knight as a member of the media!!
it is a ok list. moss should be up top and jerry jones whould be second. i would pull bobby knight and sub in cindy crysby, (but, mebbe, that is more of a personal thing, and hockey is the least popular of the big 4).
and mike vick, was an idiot, but whatever he paid for his crimes, much more than most sports figures.
i would also add that idiot ben roteeniebugger. yeah, not guilty whatever, bad judgement, or stupidity, still can't stand him...

@thromoo - Knight is a basketball mind - he could write the book on the game. Vick has done big things to repair his image, and I think he's alright
@bruce - Moss is a dick, so I can see that. A primadonna. Jerry Jones tries to be like The Boss Steinbrenner but will never get to his level.

I probably agree with most everyone on the list, with the exception of Vick, Jones and Moss.
1) Vick has done the best he could to fix a f'd up situation of his own making, so one should give him points for that.
2) Jones, eh....not a Cowboy fan to begin with.
3) Moss was okay in New England, but I'm sure deep down he realizes that he was a dick for doing what he did in New England. Perhaps he should do pennance in Buffalo.
@Samuel - I know nothing of soccer, but I will take your word for it. The Neville's sound like assholes.
@G - Vick is OK. Jones, boo! Moss is a dick for leaving NE. Glad he got buried in Tennessee
