Saw the ticker at the bottom of ESPN and it said Tom Cable is unlikely to return next season.
WTF!
I thought the Raiders played hard for him. I tell you what - Al Davis needs to cede control and take a walk. That old bastard pisses me off sometimes.
Just wanted to share this sad news.
Back to Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America" - pretty comical.
G'night!

Proud to be a Raiders Fan - FINALLY!!
The Raiders became the first team to go undefeated within their division and fail to make the playoffs. Pretty typical stuff if you're a Raiders fan. The Broncos, Chargers, and Chiefs couldn't handle the Silver & Black. Problem is, the rest of the league had no problem.
Let's go inside the numbers a little bit.
6-0 - Record against the AFC West
2-2 - Record against the NFC West, the worst division in football
215 - points scored in 6 games against AFC West teams
195 - points scored in 10 games against the rest of the league
1,157 - Yards Run-DMC had, becoming the first 1,000 yard rusher since Justin Fargas (1,009 yds.) in 2007
1,244 - Kickoff return yards by Jacoby Ford
101, 99 - Yardage on opening kickoff TD's for Jacoby Ford
+39 - Point differential for the 2010 season
Good season. Tom Cable has certainly proven that he is the man in Oakland. He's got a little fire inside, and the guys seemed to respond to it. They were in every game but two (TEN 38-13, PIT 35-3) and finished .500.
I'm sweating trying to crunch these numbers here, so it's time to grab a non-alcoholic drink from the fridge. I feel like I've been on a week-long bender.
Back to the gym tomorrow morning, although my resolution has nothing to do with fitness for 2011. Those never work, so if you're one of the people who said to yourself, "I'm gonna get in shape this year" - change your resolution immediately. Gotta go put my workout together for the week.
Take care gentle people.

Oh to be a Raiders fan
Little fun fact before the Week 17 NFL games begin.
The Oakland Raiders, with a win at the Kansas City Chiefs today at 1:00pm, can become the only team in NFL history to go undefeated in their division and NOT make the playoffs.
Even in a good year, the Raiders find a way to torture their fans.
Let's go Silver & Black!!!

Roots
I know lately I've been detracting from why I wanted to begin this blog in the first place - sports. I also understand that the natural progression of things forces them to change in one way, shape, or form. I want to make it clear I have not and will not compromise what I talk about for the sake of popularity.
I love sports and I love being critical of people, places, and things. It's who I am and it's what makes me go.
I also love photography, which is why I include photos in a lot of my posts. Again, it's something I enjoy.
So for those of you who detest sports, I apologize, but every now and again, you're going to get a string of sports-related posts. And for my sports fan followers, bear with me, because sometimes I just enjoy going off on a tangent on other things in life.
In closing, I am a pretty well-rounded person who enjoys many things. I am going to write about random events that happen to me, sports stories that astound me, and hopefully everyone continues to follow and enjoy the rants and musings of WRT.
Cheers!

walking home
A view from the lonely walk home. Glassjaw was good but we need a new album already.
Goodnight world.
