Cover Artists

Cool article on the face of B.I.G.'s "Ready to Die" album and what he looks like now.  Bronx kid, pretty neat.  Too bad he only made $150 for a record that reached #3 on the U.S. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in 1994 and #15 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Whatever.

I was on the cover of a book once - a book about playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League titled "The Last Best League".  That's me, #22 with the long hair standing on the "T".  I played for the Bourne Braves during the summer of 2001.  Yup, I too am famous.  Tell your friends, you're reading the work of a legend.  Hah - I actually just made myself laugh out loud.  Pretty awesome though, at least to me.

Briefly...

...because we have to head to our slop hole of a field to try and get it ready for practice.

There is women's basketball practice in the gym (they're in the WBI), there's women's volleyball practice in the gym (they're out of season), and there's a HS basketball scrimmage (they're not affiliated with the school) - so we're the odd ones out.

Yesterday there was 2" of mud that was the infield.  It was windy last night, but I'm not sure how much it helped because it was relatively chilly as well.  Our options for a place to practice just dwindled down to one - our field.  Just for the record, we practice and play in a city park - Van Cortlandt Park.  We're sometimes required to kick off locals to play on our own field.  And this woman who runs the park - or so she tells us - Margot, is a tree hugging, pain in the ass.  Lady speaks to us in a condescending tone like we're five year-olds.  I want to slug her in the face, or cut off a tree branch strategically placed to fall on her, but I just don't have the time or the resources.

Off to an afternoon of fun.  (sarcasm)
