Casey Anthony is not guilty of anything except lying to police? Is this not the biggest fucking travesty since OJ Simpson?
Lindsay began watching this case while being the stay-at-home mom and got me hooked a few weeks ago, and literally, it was always on in the apartment. We were intrigued and captivated by it all. And the last thing we expected was a "not guilty" verdict on decision day. The worst part was we were driving in the car back from MV today when the decision was made not being able to watch - luckily I found an AM station live from the courthouse so we could listen live to the verdict. I swear, it was like being a sports fan and cheering for your favorite team. I was a fan of Team Ashton (the prosecutor for the state of Florida), who I thought was hitting homeruns all case long. He is said to be retiring following this ridiculous outcome. I would too - he's had a great career and to be a part of this abortion of a verdict would make me rethink my decision to continue as well.
And to make matters worse, they said her attorney, Jose Baez (now the #1 lawyer in America), was out celebrating at a bar. Give me a break!
I'm entitled to my opinions, and as you all know will voice them in their entirety, and I truly think the justice system is flawed in this country. We poll from the middle class only it seems, but we should reach out to the rich and the poor for jury duty.
Another thing - these jurors were sequestered the entire case - no contact with the outside world - phone calls, television, telephone, internet - NOTHING! Do you not think they wanted to get the fuck outta there and come to a conclusion? I wouldn't be surprised if there were two or three jurors who thought she was guilty but figured what's the point, we're not going to change 9 or 10 other minds. And I really believe that. It's a God damn shame that this woman got away with murder.
The bottom line is, in Florida, you can kill someone, skirt the truth and make up cockamamie stories for a few weeks, lie to a cop, lie to your family, wait for things to decompose and become untraceable, lie to more cops, and eventually you'll be acquitted of murder.
I hate to admit it, but I am pissed off over this bullshit verdict. Voice your opinions, please, if you've been watching this thing.
