Post-Blackout Black Eye

I'm back up and running after a 9 day blackout here in the greater Hartford area.

Four line crews came barreling in around 8pm Sunday night (our power went out the previous Saturday at 11:45pm) looking to do some work - FINALLY!!  Twenty minutes later, power (and order) was restored.  They sent two buckets up the pole, took out a fuse, put in a new one, pushed it into place and POW - power.

I went inside and did a little dance.  You think having power for a day or two sucks, ha.  You have no idea.  We stayed at 7 different places over the course of the blackout.  SEVEN!  Talk about a whirlwind.

What turned out to be the biggest story since power has been restored?  Well I'll tell you Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian are thrilled it ain't them - it's a sex scandal at Penn State.

Joe Paterno is out.  The athletic director is out.  The president is out.  What a shitstorm this whole thing is and it totally tarnished a brilliant coaching career by a man with 409 victories - more than anyone else in the history of college football? (besides John Gagliardi).

Truth be told, he didn't say something eleven years ago - which is dispicable a damn shame.  He could have ended this whole thing back then but chose not to - terrible judgement on his part.

Jerry Sandusky is a piece of shit and should rot in hell (or jail) for the rest of his life.  Joe Paterno - he'll live in his own jail for the rest of his life knowing he could have done something but didn't.

I cannot believe this story.  It has nothing to do with sports and for those of you trying to make it a sports story are mistaken - this is a sick and twisted sex scandal created by a man in a power position - assistant football coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions.  He was often seen with 10- or 11-year-olds at bowl games, camps, practices - and no one saw any issues with this?  Oh that's right, he had his "Second Mile" program - basically a recruiting tool to feed his child-sex habit.  I am going to puke talking about this anymore, so I am done.

Just like Penn State football and Joe Paterno's reputation.

They're shredding trees outside making me think that this nap I just put Nolan down for is going to be short lived.
