Tebow Time > Colts Futility > Packers Greatness ???
It seems "Tebow Time" is the biggest story in the NFL this year. I am happy the guy is having success, but whenever they win, it's because of him and no one else. Von Miller, Elvis Dumervil, Matt Prater - these guys have a big role in the Broncos success as well but are only mentioned as an afterthought when people are done talking about Tim Tebow (which seems like never).
I've heard him speak in press conferences and I have yet to hear him mention how another player (besides God) made a great play in a big spot.
This is how the game goes:
1st, 2nd, 3rd quarters - Tebow lays eggs all day
4th quarter and overtime - he decides to show up
That's all well and good except why can't he figure out what the hell he's doing wrong in the first three quarters?
And all this talk of Tebow ultimately leads to one thing - religion. Whenever he talks, it's about Jesus Christ or God or miracles - leave religion out of it, if you can. Separate church and state (or in this case, faith and football). I never hear any other athletes praising God or preaching their belief on dieties in their press conferences. The whole "holier than thou" thing has got to be put on the backburner. For once just credit the teammates who helped you instead of harping on God.
I'm no athiest and I believe God deserves his credit, but he didn't throw the TD pass, he didn't kick the 59-yard field goal, and he certainly would have showed up for the first 45 minutes of the game.
So Tebow, I'm happy for you, but it's like I'm at church listening to your pressers. That's all.
GO RAIDERS!!!
On to other stories in the NFL:
The Colts inglorious run at the imperfect season is in tact and looking like a possibility more and more. Oh for thirteen with the Titans, Texans, and Jaguars left. Can they do it?
And the Packers are three games away from an undefeated regular season. The Chiefs, Bears, and Lions are left on the slate - and they are a steamroller thus far. I can't see them losing, but crazier things have happened (see: Tebow story above).
No one cares about these things because Tebow has taken over the globe. He should join the GOP debates - he'd win for sure over Romney, Newt, and Perry.
I gotta go man.
