Which series are you most looking forward to this weekend as inter-league play begins?
Reds-Yankees? - Nothing really exciting here
White Sox-Cubs? - Besides the Chicago thing, they are both irrelevant
Orioles-Nationals? - Both are near the top of their division, it's finally relevant
Braves-Rays? - Both are near the top of their division, where they'll be all season
Diamondbacks-Royals? - Blech!
Red Sox-Phillies? - I hope Papelbon shoves it up their asses in the 9th
Athletics-Giants? - Bay Area is buzzing for two teams that really are long shots
On a different note, I have been watching "I (Almost) Got Away With It" for the past three hours as Nolan has slept. I say that and am sure he'll wake up momentarily.
Good day.
Have a great weekend.

Closer of the Year Tournament 2012, Part II
Five closers were eliminated - no, there was no rush to get Jim Johnson through to the Final Four - he just deserves to move on. The only upset was the #3 Seed NL Brett Myers, who got walked-off on by Hunter Pence and the Phillies, his former team.
#5 Seed AL - Brandon League, SEA - Blew the lead in an 11-inning loss to the Indians, the final blow a walk-off single by Carlos Santana.
#7 Seed AL - Jose Valverde, DET - Because his antics are old, and his ERA is North of 5.50. And it's my tournament.
#3 Seed NL - Brett Myers, HOU -He's been a rock for an otherwise unimpressive Astros club, but what have you done for me lately? - loss and a blown save.
#5 Seed NL - John Axford, MIL - His mustache is second to none but his closer skills this year are lacking. Besides, he went to Canisius and he shoved the bats up our ass his senior year.
#8 Seed NL - Rafael Betancourt, COL - He imploded in the Rockies loss to Arizona last night, thanks to a two-out, two-run homer by Justin Upton than gave the D'Backs the 9-7 lead.
Jim Johnson just keeps rolling along. It wasn't a hard decision to eliminate Brandon League, the #5 Seed in the AL, after allowing five baserunners and two runs while only recording one out against the Indians.
Not sure why Chris Perez only went two-thirds of an inning against the Mariners last night, maybe it was his control - only 7 of 17 pitched for strikes - but either way, he preserved the lead for the Indians. For this reason, Jose Valverde is gone. Perez holds leads in non-save situations. Besides, I hate Valverde's antics.
Axford is gone because Motte is from a school I like more, Iona. They both have filthy stuff, but Motte is just a better closer this year.
Kimbrel has only one save opportunity with a three-run lead. He's pitching in pressure-cooker situations. Betancourt pitches in Colorado, not our fault, but he's just not as reliable as Kimbrel.
In the first real upset, Brett Myers has struggled in his past two outings - a loss and a blown save - while Casilla has been pretty steady with far less "stuff".
